  • Is the River Usk in Newport (Wales) tidal?

    I’m writing a report on a site by the A48 St George bridge (East Dock Road) and I need to know if the River Usk is tidal at that point.

    Anyone know?

    Yep pretty sure it is, driving past on the motorway the tidal mud banks go up the other side of the m4

    Yes – probably for a good 10km upstream of Newport

    As above – but why not break out the OS maps, it tells you on there.

    It stops being tidal between Caerleon and Usk somewhere judging by the mud.
