As it stands, it's quite clear that Santa comes every year to bring Jebus to us from the North Pole to celebrate the winter solstice and spread goodwill to everyone. That's why it took the Wise men so long to turn up – they didn't have a clue what was going on.

If the church were truly sincere in their wish to make Christmas a celebration of the birth of Christ they'd be brave enough to move the festival to his birthday, rather than the pre-existing pagan festival that they appropriated.
