I’ve just noticed the the Euro has fallen this morning due to Ireland’s annoucement re. the Anglo Irish bank.

Is this the beginning of the end for the Euro?

    First Greece and now Ireland?

    Only time will tell.

One thing though: How can it ‘be the end’? What happens if it ‘ends’?
Is there suddenly no money in Europe? Seriously, what happens?

Ireland and Greece aren’t exactly the powerhouses of Europe.

Ireland’s news is spooking the market and quite rightly so though.

could we just trade all our fat ugly women for their slim fit ones, I bet they would be worth more as they would be better suited to pulling carts and working in the fields.

i like the euro – but it does have a stupid name.

some people criticize it as being inherently flawed – using the current situation to highlight their point.

i disagree – we’re not in this mess because of the euro, we just all got carried away with ‘cheap’ loans – the house of cards fell over because lending money at cheap rates to NINJA’s* is inherently flawed.

the ‘euro’ will be fine, but lots of people will struggle as we all** pay back money we shouldn’t have borrowed in the first place.

Noooooooo, I’m on holliday next week and had the option of either paying £500 upfrotn or paying £100 and £400 on arrival, I banked on the pound being the next to tank after the election result 🙁

The Euro came worryingly close to collapse earlier during the Greek crisis. If one member state exits, it probably will.

If it does, it will probably mean utter economic chaos across the whole continent – including us.
