Went for a ride yesterday and noticed the forks (Fox TALAS 36’s)very stiff and unbouncy – they havent been used for 5 weeks prior. Ive put some oil on the stanchions and they seem to have eased up after a damn fine session of bouncing them up and down, but does this mean its time to send them off to Mojo (only done about 15 rides)?

1 Hour ride x 15 = time to service (officially)

You can do it yourself, taking the lowers off.

Oils and crush washers available from mojo

That said, they shouldn’t be stiff after just a few rides

turn your bike upside down few hours prior to riding..the natural oils will lubricate the stanchions..

Possibly the damping oil thickening due to the cold weather?

Do it yourself. Dead easy and dead cheap. And store your steed upside down.
