Descending from Stanage Pole the rear shock compresses on a mound, followed by a loud sharp crack. The rear suspension goes soft and the unit is covered in oil and the damper adjustment knob rotates freely.

Is it time to search for a replacement or is there a remote chance it can be repaired? It’s a Fox FLOAT CTD Evolution on a 2013 Trance X.

Less than a year old? Send it to MOJO and they should see you right. If not send it to them anyway and they might be able to fix it. There’s a seal under the adjuster that casues it to leak, it might just be that that’s blown.

Send it to them anyway, they might be able to fix it as part of a normal service, if not then fox shocks are the same price everywhere so youd lose nothing getting it from there and it’ll be tuned etc for your bike and weight.

Maybe covered by a good will warranty, or we can have a look if not 😉

I thought this may be a more general point. would b interesting as I see more and more riding buddies reverting to HT. Mostly 29ers with 2.3 tyres and dropper posts.
