Watching XC racing must be the most boring thing to watch after football. fair enough the fitness levels of those pro's is truly impressive watching it sends me to sleep. I'd pay to watch DH but not XC.

what a joke! i dont have to pay to go and watch a national. or is that price including camping and facilities in which case its alright.

Take a stick to Absolon's front wheel and do a runner into the woods, that would be worth the admission!!

These are professional cyclists you know, not some chubby accountants riding around a trail centre. A national round is nothing like UCI world cup either.
Fair play Rich, you've just spent a few K on pimping your new ride..
To anyone going, see you there. To the others stop your unjust ignorant moaning.
Ciao

im going, supporting an event like this in the UK can only be a good thing for the profile of mountain biking in this country.
Also an excuse for a few beers !

Thats my hard earned bonus earned standing on a picket line FYI
Would love to go up there and jump the fence but isnt the area out of bounds for the rest of us mere mortals who want to ride

Planning to go there with a couple of others after taking a short break and doing a couple of days in t'Dales then NY Moors.
I'd heard that there's an open event on the Saturday, but we should be out on the moors then.

I heard they've made the ten foot drop a little more severe for WC. 'Course that could be hearsay, but amusing if it's true. I know where I'd be standing to watching it.

Yeah, the left hand side 'easier' drop is now a rock and you have to go over the far right (mans) side. Re worked Medusa's drop as well i believe, Should be a great family day out if the weather turns good, see ya there.

Considering the majority of people on here are regularly out XC riding, that's a little bit disappointing. A UCI world Cup round in England won't come round very often. I suppose the sport you're involved in isn't necessarily a good spectator sport, especially when there are no elite UK MTBers who stand a chance of the podium.

A lot of the foreign rounds are free to enter, including the DH races. They know Brits will pay so they fleece them.

I'm just waiting to find out the set up regarding marshalling for the weekend.
I don't think I'll go just to spectate - marshalling an XC race is interesting and can be fun, but just sitting and watching I think I would find a bit too boring.Posted 2 years ago # -
didn't pay in madrid the last 2 years - should have kept it there.
