    Until now, my regular post ride recovery regime has consisted of any combination of Guiness, bacon sarnie, Mum’s fruit cake. It’s time to concede, at a ripe 39, that maybe there is something a little more effective to avoid the all night leg twitching that develops.
    So far, I’ve had recommendations of more Guiness, protein shakes, dessicated liver (now that sounds fun) and a shrug at a local health food store when I said I wasn’t interested in muscle building, just recovery.
    Any other suggestions?

    Magnesium, magnesium, magnesium, as a supplement or green leafy veg. Also keep up iron intake with red meat.

    Quinine is your friend… Drink tonic water Stanny, it’s helped me with my disco leg..

    stretching/dehydration, your food isn’t bad enough to be causing this.
