2006 Iron Horse Hollowpoint MKIII Frame and 5th Element Air Shock.
going to fleabay this frame and shock, thought i would see if anyone here wanted it before i stuck it on? looking for £300 plus p&p will email pic's if you want to see it up close.
When I had this bike running it was fitted with Rock Shox Pike 454 suspension fork, SRAM X.9 controls with Hayes HFX-9 Carbon brakes & levers and FSA V-Drive cranks on a MegaExo bottom bracket, it takes an inch and eighth integrated headset. It rode really well and I loved it, but as often happens with me my eye was taken by another!! I now own a lovely Orange 5 and need to recover some of the cost by selling this frame and shock on.
According to the Iron Horse web site: No matter if you love to ride long technical climbs, technical descents, or trail rides covering a wide variety of terrain; the MKIII is designed in the true spirit of the sport. The MKIII is built for the rider who regularly rides a variety of terrain, but doesn't want to invest in a fleet of terrain specific bikes, the MKIII features the dw-link suspension system which allows for 5" of travel while providing the most efficient ride you could wish for. To be fair it is a pretty accurate description of the bikes ride characteristics.
The frame has a brand new rear swing arm replaced under warranty by the distributor, all the bearings are also either brand new or in perfect working order. The 5th Element shock was serviced by TFT about 14 months ago but has not been ridden while I have been working in Aus for 6 months. There are a few paint scratches and trail marks on the main frame as you would expect but other than that is in really good nick.
