I need to record some meetings and I’m wondering if there’s a reason to use an app other than the standard voice recorder? I suppose the things I consider are picking up the voices, having a long record time, and potentially exporting the files somewhere I can save them for future reference. Any ideas?

I’ve used voice memos to record turn by turn directions for cycling holidays route notes. The memos sync to iTunes and can be found in the media folder for burning to disc. A days cycling was 5 hours plus with memos being 5 to 10 seconds each and up to to 200 per day, plenty of battery life left at the end of the route every day.
