    (aside from coke and hookers)

Over the years we’ve managed to cover a lot of stuff, ipods when they first came out, year pass to cinema, cooking lessons etc

This year getting him music and prob a shirt and some books but anything a bit more exciting that people have come across?

He’s into films, music and reading-esp liked the durer programme on beeb recently

    ideas?

thought about the kindle but i reckon it’ll be like ipods and in a few models they’ll be offering far more features.

he has some smart shoes he loves

the other presents may be wasted i fear

Kindle is cheap enough that it doesn’t matter if it’s obsolete in a few years, if you waited for the final version of any technological item you’d wait forever. If he’s a reader, he’ll love a Kindle. I do.

Year’s subscription to a magazine, leather toiletries bag, super-expensive shirt, cashmere jumper, designer leather belt, Samson overnight bag/suitcase, year’s subscription to the dvd’s by post (can’t remember name), cufflinks, 1 day workshop of some description, ie creative or practical.

I’m 50 something and none of that sounds at all appealing. How about tickets to some decent upcoming gigs (and I don’t mean Status Quo). Personally, I’d love a Ti cookset or a really nice bivvy bag

C_g, I’m afraid that nothing on your list appeals in the slightest, and I’m 56! A pair of 5:10 shoes, a ticket to see Arcade Fire at the O2, an iPod Touch or iPad, maybe a pair of Howies Japanese Selvedge denims, now you’re talking. 😀

OK, I assumed this was for a non-cyclist. Cyclists are trendy and rad so anything goes. 😀

Can I just say that fellow over-50’s that I come across who do not cycle may appreciate my suggestions. Riding bikes keeps you young, doesn’t it? 😉

If I was a reader the Kindle would be nice(got wife one) anything with the i logo would be good to.

Being a bikey type I need lots of bike stuff inc shoes, forks, brakes etc, etc.

Being or have been into cars so a track day would be ace.

Like my music so tickets to anything would be good.

Personally I am happy with nothing and buying/getting what I want when I need it. Just the way it has always been for me.
Grand kids on the otherhand mean I get little or none of the above 🙄
