I missed out on the inter railing around Europe as a teenager, Ive been thinking of a ten day-fortnight Euro rail trip with the Mrs and kids for next years holiday.

Anybody out there done anything similar ? tips, advice, potential costs, all advice gladly received.

    Cheers

Did it around Italy with my partner and she has done it with a friend around Norway.

We had a brilliant time but never booked anything, just rocked up and travelled. Worked for us but often found we were on full trains and stuck by the door/floor.

With a little forward planning it would be a very cheap way to travel.

Can whole heartedly recommend Italy (West side) and train will take you to Sicily (it drives onto the ferry)
