Planning a month’s long road trip in one of company vans. Will be taking a load of toys with us including expensive mountain bikes, kitesurf gear, laptop etc (probably around £8-10k’s worth of kit in total).

That’s quite some £££’s of kit so obviously don’t want to loose out if the van is broken into and the kit is stolen. Unfortunately the current insurance on the van can’t be amended to include contents and our home/contents insurance won’t cover it either.

Has anyone else insured this sort of kit for a temporary period and if so where did you go to arrange this? Have looked into dedicated bike insurance a while back and it was a total rip off – and anyway it wouldn’t cover the kitesurf gear.

    Cheers.

Possibly travel insurance with snowcard or similar, they cover sports gear even when in the hands of an airline so worth checking their t&c’s

Our Home Contents has an added bit for £3k kit away from home, indcluding a vehicle. Its M&S (i.e. Axa)
