Do they take into account the kind of car you have? What is accelerating wildly in 1.0 fwd car might be only gently pulling away completely in control in a more powerful 4wd vehicle for instance.

These things need to be avoided like the plague. If not they will become the norm and big brother will be issuing fines and accusing you of all sorts of things based on their evidence and you will have no opportunity to know if the box is accurate or not. It has already been proved in court that speed cameras are recording cars travelling at 30mph as doing 40mph. The motorist was able to prove his speed vai GPS and the judge agreed it was more reliable than the speed camera.

You keep assuming that if you like. It was a genuine question. I have no intention of ever having one because I’m old and my insurance is practically free anyway – not to mention my 70bhp van struggles to accelerate anyway so would probably be fine even if I drove it like a complete idiot.
