Is it worthwhile having it? My bikes are all covered by the home insurance while stored in the garage. I was thinking more along the lines of damage cover etc.

Bikes are covered under house insurance, people I ride into are covered by CTC membership: http://www.ctc.org.uk/

not sure a lot of insurers insure against damage seeing as every ride you could ‘accidentally’ damage a part of a bike.
