My 04 vintage lefty hub needs new bearings.
I can’t find any guidance on how to do these so wonder if anyone has any guidance they can offer.
Also, the bearings themselves, standard bearings or ceramic. The dimensions and codes can be found so I was considering a trip to a local supplier.

Remove wheel, take suitable pin spanner and remove the bolt’s retaining cap (LH thread, which hopefully won’t be siezed) to gain access to the bearings which can be removed/replaced in the same manner as any other cartridge bearing hub ie knock out with a hammer and drift, re-fit with the correct press/socket/handy piece of rock, depending on which school you went to.

Querty cycles are the boys to go to. Quick service, and they have most bits for obscure cannondales (aren’t they all obscure?)

I did mine recently and it’s no different to any other hub, once you’ve undone the left hand thread cap.
I’m not convinced that ceramic bearings are worth the money.

MTG…that second link suggests the bearing should be used in applications of limited rotation, such as suspension linkages. Is that definitely the right one?

You can get the Cannondale-supplied inner and outer bearings individually if you only need to change one. Both in stock here:

Well spotted, rockhopper70, looks like I bought the wrong one.
It’s in the hub now and I’ve been riding it for a few weeks with no problem.
