  • Installing Asgard steel shed onto block paving ?

This is our proposed installation site – dimensionally OK for one of the largest Asgard shed (we have 6 bikes). And there will always be a vehicle parked up to the doors so should be fairly secure.

Assuming we can get the paving levelled – anyone know if this is a goer or have experience ?

Rather than fix it to the floor, would it be possible to fix it to the wall behind?

surely if you fix to the blocks all that will happen if someone wants in is that with enough leverage the blocks will lift out ?

Well getting that paving “properly levelled” will require most of it to come up so why not fetch it up, dig out the paving sand (doddle by hand) then using an existing row of blocks as a shutter concrete the whole thing back in at say 4 inches. Slight fall away from the back wall and youve got a proper substantial base to fix the shed to.

Approx two bulk bags and 12 bags of cement if hand mixing btw.

The depth at 9ft for a 6x might be tight as you’ll need to allow a gap of around 20 cms at back for cleaning and some space at front to allow for doors to be open. As long as car not too close it should be ok. Brilliant bit of kit and super secure.

Crucial base is perfectly level otherwise the doors won’t close properly as the shed will twist. I paid for installation as it’s a 2 person job and a lot of fiddly bolting together.

Finally tip, AstroTurf on floor as it scratches easily and the wooden floor (don’t bother with it) hates muddy wet bikes. AstroTurf you can take out and shake out easily.

Really don’t understand, yes it will be fine. Last post is very funny, it’s a metal box it will go anywhere it fits.

Whilst it’s metal the sides are still a bit flexy. If it isn’t flush to the floor all the way around it’s not going to be very secure and the top will twist. Those slabs don’t look level so I reckon they’re going to have to come up……

Doors have a bit of gap around them for unevenness, my asgard shed has always closed okay even if the floor isn’t perfect. It’s the lock holes that don’t line up if it’s on an uneven base.

As above, concrete base with a slight run of for water. Had one at our old house, need one here at our new one!
