My new 62′ surly disk trucker monster. To cure back / neck problems commuting 58 miles to work and back on a small Pompino.

I will drop one or two spacers once it is built up. It will sport an Alfine and pannier racks.

But for shorter trips round and across town, this is every bit as good, just missing the disc brakes.

A little bit harsh and heavy but spins along nicely once it’s up to speed. Good value for money IMHO

After cycling home with rim brakes that did nothing on my pomp this thread is doing little to stop me pressing go on a kaffenback. Just not sure about having a geared bike for commuting again.
