I finally got around to reading Infinite Jest earlier this year. Amazing book... even with all those fugging footnotes.
One of the few books I find utterly indigestible, IJ. Some of his shorter stuff is good, so long as tennis isn't mentioned, but it's Oblivion / Interviews with... / Pale King he should be remembered for IMO.

I thought so, too - initially... and by the end, I was an emotional wreck (in a good way).
Agreed: his non-fiction/short-story stuff is great, if sometimes uncomfortable. Haven't read The Pale King, though.
