  • Inbredbodgetrack world – 29er wheels with road tyres on a 26er Inbred…

I’ve got an old Inbred I want to press into commuting / road duties. I’ve bought a set of 29er wheels as I know you can fit skinny tyres on 700c rims and everything works, but has anyone ever had 700c rims, road / cross tyres and mudguards on an Inbred?

You can do 32 mm tyres for sure. (Rear will be the limiting factor.)

It works, I know three or four people who’ve reworked inbreds like this.

Cheers all, a pair of 32mm tyres have duly been ordered. Lets hope I can bodge mudguards on there…

Other than the spacing of the rear dropout, the inbred and pompino are very similar so if it fits it’ll be OK. Mudguards should be OK but no rear brake hanger so probably do p-clips

What about a 456 ? Would it require a longer fork to accomodate the geometry change from an Inbred ?
