    Just building up my first SS (26) and need to sort the bars/stem. I have a few bits from old bikes but was never really happy with the handling and think I’d prefer a beefier stem too. Trying to keep new purchases and prices to a minimum

    What works well for others?

    I was thinking of going up to 700 bars and a shorter stem. What are the Superstar Vector Bars and Zenith stem like? Is it good to have wider bars for a singlespeed for climbing too?

    Mine’s got cheap as chips On-One bar & stem combo – does the job for me & came well within budget.

    Easton monkeylite dh carbon (711mm) and a 70mm 0 deg Thomson on mine.

    60mm on one CNC stem off eBay. Answer 685mm riser off CRC. Less than £40 altogether.
