    Sparkling, specifically.

    Really rather lovely.

Their Bacchus is rather nice, but as for English wine in general? Meh at best I’m afraid.

I’ve had a few of denbies offerings and wasn’t blown away.

    A bit flowery and weak

Our sparkling wine is passable because there isnt the reliance on minerality or depth that a fine still wine depends on.

See the general quality of Champagne wines: massive yields producing huge quantites of crap juice. Bit of fizz and bosh, people pay £20 for a bottle of veuve cliquot that’s got nothing to it.

True, Stoner, but we need to support our local winemakers as they develop.

Bumper year this year, that Chapel down isn’t far from where I live and ride, Tenterden. They win loads of competitions beating the French at their own game, doesn’t seem to make the stuff any cheaper mind.

A great way to spend lunch at Chapel Down Vinyard, nice restaurant there.
