Hi, Does anyone know if warranty replacements are exempt from import duties? The part is coming over from Canada and is over the £105 threshold.

Yes, a warranty replacement is exempt. Ask the sender to put in a noe to that effect

I got stung like this once. Frame came back as warranty and nil charge but had a value on the packet for insurance. I was taxed at the insurance value by HMRC. After a long battle, they conceeded that it was warranty and therefore exempt. However, I still got stung with a bill for £86 for handling!!!!!!!!!!
