After a bit of advice regarding the above issue
Had an imac for maybe 8 years and it’s been fine, however it’s now decided not to boot and just gives a white screen. Google yielded a few rays of hope with various button holds but no joy. It’s probably the limit of my it skills too
looked on the Web and there an apple store near by, is that the only option? Google has shown a few independent apple specialists nearby are they worth looking at? Based near Southampton, are there any recommendations?

Sounds like a hard drive failure .

Book an Appointment and turn up on time , be polite and patient . You may be surprised .

Plan B should be a recommended independent .
