Not being a racist I was wondering what solutions there are for listening to DAB on the move. Although there are various bolt-on tuners available whats made me wonder was listening to Radio 6 one presenter commented to another that they had missed their show because "they were in the car". That made me think that if practical solutions to listening to DAB in a car existed then DAB radio presenters might invest in them.

Being radio I'm not sure as the whether the presenter was of one race or another. But love is ~~blonde~~ blind

I have a Pure Highway radio in the car.
Does a good enough job and is simple to set up and use. The only drawback being is that it uses FM frequencies with your existing radio in its most basic setup, but I'm happy with that.

MTBCol - what frequencies does the Highway use? I gave up using my ipod transmitter because you can never find a clear frequency for more than a few miles in central scotland. Is there the option to run it through a mini jack instead?

The head unit I've got is fairly new so not so keen to change it, although I have spotted the odd DAB add-on unit that might work through the head unit.

Aside from the kit I'm thinking as much about reception and coverage, is coverage/signal good enough when you're travelling about the country?

The highway will scan all frequencies on installation for a clear area in the band it can use. Currently mine's set at 99.9 and I haven't noticed any interference when driving about. If you do get interfeence, a quick press of one button will allow it to rescan and find a clear frequency again. I assume it'll be a bit of a ballache if you have to do it often, but so far I haven't had to change mine since I installed it.

Ah the transmitter I've currently got automatically scans, but never managers to settle on a frequency here. Like the idea of having the option to use a transmitter as I use a lot of hire vehicles as well as my own motor so being able to take the dab from vehicle to vehicle is attractive, but day to day I'd want to connect by minijack instead
