Some people just aren't that into cars.
I'm sure I could think of other things that I could buy to make my life better though.
I'd probably buy a number of different bikes (audax/light tourer RB, 29er, FS, plus others) wouldn't have the time to be arsed worrying about a car, mid size estate for no more than £4K. Honda VFR800 VTEC motorbike.
2 wheels good, 4 wheels useful but boring.
Right, so money not an object, you'd buy a car that needs MOT'ing and will no doubt need repairs pretty soon, yet you don't have time to be arsed worrying about cars?
Gah!
Actually as per DezB, I'm not being entirely serious, but it does stagger me sometimes on these types of threads.
Actaully, I'll have the RV and the GT3 RS for track days, but this would be my sunday car. Lambo Reventon, does it get any better????

Audi Q7 V12 TDi

OR

BIKE? The list is too long...
T5 and tallboy
A Mondeo and a Ribble in a money no object thread? Jesus some people have no aspirations.
Ferrari 250 GT SWB

Before people spout off about material possessions not bringing happiness - true, but I'd wager those that are happy with their Mondeo et al, would also claim to have the perfect idyl. Really?
Maybe they simply don't need some sort of compensatory extension to their personality?
I really despair at the folk that state they are happy with their lot.
Maybe they actually are? Had you considered that?
All well and good being happy in your current life/situation, but really - do you have no imagination, are you kidding yourselves, or could life simply not be any better.
Some of the wealthiest people I know have very modest cars, as they simply don't feel the need to own a flashy motor. Their choice. Maybe they prefer collecting art, or antiques, or travelling, giving to charity, or whatever. People are different, you know?
I know it's hard for you to understand people might dare to have values different to your own, but that's how it is.
One of these to go on the back window shelf elf?
I NEED THIS BEAUTIFUL THING.
I know the server's running a bit slow, but 'kinnel Elfin, did you post that back in the 80s?
The 120y was a decent little motor you know. A mate had one; it outran several other lads' cars, much to their dismay. Speshly that **** Knoxy with his hideous Austin Maestro which blew up on the A11. How we laughed. How he failed to see the funny side.
As an aesthete, and one who appreciates truly great design and style, I've always had a soft spot for the Citroën DS; a car which had no equal. Utterly unique, and very beautiful.
It is obvious that the new Citroen has fallen from the sky inasmuch as it appears at first sight as a superlative object .. We must not forget that an object is the best messenger of a world above that of nature: one can easily see in an object at once a perfection and an absence of origin, a closure and a brilliance, a transformation of life into matter (matter is much more magical than life), and in a word a silence which belongs to the realm of fairy-tales. The D.S. - the “Goddess” - has all the features (or at least the public is unanimous in attributing them to it at first sight) of one of those objects from another universe which have supplied fuel for the neomania of the eighteenth century and that of our own science-fiction: the Deesse is first and foremost a new Nautilus .-Roland Barthes.

As for bikes; there is nothing currently for sale that, to me, could ever match a fully customised bicycle, where every component is made just for that machine, and no other.
I love the irony of someone talking about a 'lack of imagination', yet expressing their own preference for objects that are available as standard...
The 120y was a decent little motor you know. There is a guy at work still commutes in one. He loves it
Here's my choices, very practical I think.

Heh! Nice one Woody!

Easier to remember if they have the same model numbers!

With this in the back:

As I already own both bikes, all I need is the wedge to afford to buy, restore and maintain the Safari.

You're ALL wrong

It's the standard line chucked out on here whenever this sort of thread comes up.
Apparently a beautiful Italian sportscar is totally vulgar if
a) It's not 50 years old
b) A footballer might have one
A footballer might have oneOn the plus side, at least Rooney hasn't had a Ferrari yet. Just the one slightly less than subtle Italian so far !

I know, I'm playing.
As I work for a car company I'll excuse myself from the first part for fear of perceived bias. As to the second - I'd upgrade my Zesty 214 to a 914. Cant' see I could ever need more bike than that for what I ride. Won't ever happen, though...

or
It'd be a toss up which one would break down first conqueror...

If money was no object I'm sure you'd own quite a variety of cars and bikes. If it's a money no object, but you can only have 1 car and 1 bike it's a different kettle of fish. the cars and bikes I'd like to own for their intrinsic value/aesthetics/heritage are quite different to the ones I'd like to rag.
