Excuse my incorrect terminology, the boss (who is sadly my brother)

has a laptop with hundreds of work related stuff and home files/pics on the hard drive, i want to get him external USB backup drive but can i sync it?

when he connects it to the laptop i want to set it to backup certain folders etc but only new files or amended ones?

He has Vista on the laptop can this be done or do i need to buy fancy backup software?

he just isn’t ‘up to speed’ shall we say and i need to make it numpty proof!

    cheers

I used Beyond Compare to do something similar. Paid for software. about $20 I think.

    rsync for windows:

Write a simple batch script, and bung it on his desktop as an icon to make it numpty proof.
