Does that not depend what way your nose is pointing? The distance between the end of my nose and anything else attached to me (apart from most of the rest of my nose) is pretty variable.

its the increments between sizes – you’re not starting from zero

An adult size ‘1’ is 8 2?3 in or 22.01 cm and each size up from there is increments in barleycorns. So a size ’13’ is 12 barleycorns longer thanks a size 1,
