Say if my gf & I had an i-pod each could we both use the same pc with the same version of i-tunes?

Yup, me and the wife do that. Make sure you tick the box to manually manage the music on your iPod, otherwise it all loads on and you get all the crap you don’t like (assuming you have differing musical tastes!)

Thought I remembered reading something a while ago regarding itunes that prevented different devices from using the same pc, but perhaps that was aimed at preventing you popping over to a mates house and downloading all his itunes account!

Seat up your own separate playlists and synch your music to those. We have had 3 running off the same mac. The only thing we have found awkward is using the automatic updating of podcasts two of us both use.

We’re running a Nano, Classic and iPhone from the same account. Can also drag and drop from itunes playlists to 2 Sony walkmans’. Takes a while to set up but is worthwhile once you get used to it.
