Create separate playlists for each ipod:

It's easier to create seperate accounts for each person and then you get all your own songs, unless you want to share the same songs.

We have three ipods on our home computer, all with different music on. If my son likes any of my music (and this is becoming more common by the day), I can share it out to him.

use mediamonkey it's way better than itunes for music synching.

One computer, one itunes, one library of music = you can run as many ipods of that one machine as you want. As suggested if you set the ipod to only play specific playlists you can listen to your Sonic Youth playlist avoiding her playlist containing Boy Band Greatest Hits collections. I sync 5 ipods 1 iphone off mine al lwith different playlists from 1 main library

As with max, 3 ipods 1 account, 3 named playlists. Even my 8 yr old can managed her music.
