    … Cycling is great

Doc said I could ride again on Tuesday 1st so I bought a bike straight away. Just checked on Strava and have ridden 99 miles so far, more planned tomorrow.

I had forgotten about the fun, the freedom, the mental release…

…the mud, the cold wet feet, the state of the floor when I undress after a muddy ride.

    Welcome back!

P.S. Why did you have to buy a bike – didn’t you have one from before?

    When you say…

…the state of the floor when I undress…

…do you mean the kitchen lino or the watching audience?

I had two but they were stolen. I bought an electric assist one this time with the insurance payout though so not too upset. Need the assist as despite having more legs than average, I have fewer ankles.

Closer to the truth than you imagine. I undressed in the conservatory as it has a hard wood floor. Unfortunately it is also glass without blinds or curtains

Since getting the bike I have ridden more mileage that between 2013 and 2016. Not bad for two weeks.

I have also chipped it so I hit 28mph on private land which seemed to upset the great and the good of STW which was a bonus, especially as clipping it involve nothing more that some gaffer tape.

Snapping my foot off was life changing in a bad way. This is so massively life changing I so many good ways I could cry.

Life hasn’t been great these last few years and I will thank my friends for their support through it but finally I have been told what I have to live with, what if can do and it is just down to me to make it better.

    Lif Fukien rocks!

Forum name was given to me after a particularly interesting series of accidents in a Welsh trail centre culminating in me being pulled semi conscious away from the edge of a cliff by my ankles. Predates the last big injury by at least five years. There was an article in STW Magazine years ago detailing my early career as an accident instigater titled The Hard Way to Become a Poet

    Great news.

I understand the NHS are following you on Twitter to keep the relevant A&E department in a state of extra readiness… 😉
