Are these motorcycles any good? They seem to be looking at the specs.
I’m looking at the GT650RC at less than £5k new all in.

Or are they just another cheap “chinese” bike (korean actually)?

They made most of the SV650/1000 parts for Suzuki hence releasing these.
Watch out for poor electrics – side stand switches are a known weak points.
Other than that they go for ever – noisily but go.

You’d be better spending the same money on a nearly new Jap bike. They’re OK I suppose but they drop in value quicker then they’d drop off a cliff, and the quality is suspect too. I wouldn’t go anywhere near one personally.

£300 more buys a zero mile Honda, for instance.

Or £5k for a 3 year old Triumph with all the kit on it

Or £4800 for a nice Ducati if you fancy some fun

And that’s just my local Honda dealer……….

Why not just buy a new SV? I’m sure you can get them for £4k new.

Edit: Quick look on biketrader says £4.6k.

Had a 125 and then the 250 in the past. Only problems I had were side stand switch a cheap £20 fix at local mechanic and its bypassed. Corroded ignition switch another easy fix. Was caused by road salt rotting. Carbs got gunked up after being stood for six months. And the exhaust down pipes are made of very mild steel. So need a bit of tlc if used through winter.

Have a 2015 250R runs lovely had the inevitable side stand switch problem. But all is good. They are much improved over the older models.

Build quality is the same as Suzukis.

Sit on both I find the Hyosungs more comfortable than SV”s and the Hyosung makes slightly more power.
Parts are interchangeable a Suzuki oil filter fits the Hyosung.
