Search for 'Aldiko' in the Market…

It's an e-reader programme with lots of free books to download, ideal for travelling and commuting.

…and if you aren't using 'My Tracks' yet, you really should be; the accuracy, certainly for recording where you've been and the elevation changes, is amazing. You can upload to google maps too and share or use it as a record of your rides.

Do you have to have the handset exposed for the mytracks to work

I would be worried about damage if it was on my bars

When I use My Tracks I turn on the app, start recording a track, then put the phone into airplane mode and stick it in a pocket or in my Camelbak.

Just press stop recording at the end of the ride; job done.

Yeah, My Tracks works from deep inside my rucksack. I just minimise it and leave it running in the background rather than putting the phone in airplane
