    Just got the phone but the messaging is odd sent and received in one file no separate folders. Seems crap or am I missing something . Thanks

    It stores your messages by contact, not by in/out boxes. So you have an entire message thread pretty much like on here i suppose, its weird at first but better i think.

    try something from the Android Market like n2manager SMS if you want something more traditional.

    The iPhone does similar. Sent and Received sms appear like a conversation. Once you get used to it, it is much better than the email-style inbox/outbox.

    Only problem is that it tends to encourage more chat-style sms, which can eat up the allowance if you are not on unlimited messages.

    all the above are correct

    try the handcent app for sms; looks nicer imho than the htc widget
