Well just to summarize they tend to follow a standard format:
A few people post up some numbers, then some old codger questions the idea of bicycles having wider bars, someone else posts the same joke picture of that lad with a broom handle fitted to his glory,
bit more to and fro grumbling from the for and against brigades and then we all loose interest for another week or so...
Mine are 750 and 710 BTW...
685 here.. but with the 25 degree backsweep so if you do the maths that gives a width of 700 effectively (according to ragley)

The tip on leelikesbikes.com is whatever spacing is easiest for you for press-ups. For me that's almost 800mm but I'll be damned if I'll try to squeeze them through my local woodland singletrack - even 680mm feels tight at times!

Between 25psi and 140psi. Can anybody beat that range? 
Bars- 235mm, pressure- 9 psi.
760mm Warheads. They feel great 98% of the time on my big bike. And I even commute in central London with them.
Otherwise, 710mm is the sweet spot for me. I've very wide shoulders so wide bars suit me fine.
Always thought we ran 30-35psi in all tyres but recently discovered the pump is 5 psi high! So it seems we always ran 25-30psi. All the tyres seem a little firm now

Come to think of it, the silly sweep has helped my riding more than moving to wide bars did. I feel more comfortable stoop up and I feel as if I can grip better.
I'm going to have to go out and measure them all now. I just throw on whatever bars I have spare in the stash. I think I have 660s on my 456, it feels about right. Wider would feel like I was pretending to be a plane.
I've got something nearer 500 on my singlespeed. With bar ends, of course.

It probably help to know how tall I am - 5,11. I use bars cut to 760mm. 780 felt to long, I kept trying that for a few weeks but decided to clip em. it's amazing what 20mm can do, eh?
700mm here.
700mm and 35psi
Went to 710mm on both Mtbs, but soon went bact to 680mm on my hardtail which is mainly used in the woods local to me. I prefer the longer length of bar, but there's only so many times I can catch the bars on trees without thinking I might come off and hurt myself.
My current widest bars are on my Polo bike. They are 520mm wide flat bars.
wonder what that makes the average across the thread - can anyone be bothered to add then divide ?
Maybe Elfinsafety would do so? He's a nice chap.
