Is there anyway of knowing if HD or laptop has been cloned from another laptop?

    e.g
if all Last modified dates are the same or would it use the modified dates of the original file/programs or the clone date?

If it was cloned, chances are it would be a block level copy so it would be identical.

The SMART status data would return a different serial number.

Of course, you’d need to know the original serial no.

Some software uses this as part of a hash for a product key/license activation, so some software might stop working…

Windows itself has a SID (Security ID) that should be unique. If its cloned and sysprep hasn’t been used then that would be a duplicate. Most big companies would use a sysprep style deployment.
