    Want to record some stuff from my tv/virgin box onto my computer.

    Is there a simple cheap way i can do this? What equipment/software do i need?

    try googling pinnacle pctv or tvc you get a card (as in slot in board) and the software – its ok not wow and you need to be confident about opening up your pc and have space for the card – think was about £30

    You can also get such things as USB nowadays for not very much eg http://www.amazon.co.uk/EasyCAP-Video-Capture-Device-Audio/dp/B001G1NKXQ/ref=pd_sim_sbs_ce_2 if you want to capture from a virgin box. Also DVB USB sticks to get programs direct.
