   rode it on Sunday , very icy with frozen solid snow fell of three times , rest of red was fast and hard

    It was a bit interesting on saturday, riding along, suddenly BOOM the guy in front goes from vertical to horizontal without apparently ever going through the normal halfway stages. First time I'd bothered going above the meteorite since mid december...

    I rode the black route dec two years ago and there was sheet ice IN/on/around/over every bend.

    Oh thats bloody rich!

    I have it on the best authority that it being icy (and rooty) doesn't make any difference. They don't exist.

    You just need to look far enough up the trail mate!

    Studded tyres, doesn't fix the problem but helps you go a lot faster on ice. You do need more than 100ft of ice to make them worthwhile though.
