  • How old is the bike you ride?

I have a 2008 Cotic Soul and just recently added a 2009 Yeti 575. Love the cotic and can’t see myself ever parting with it. The Yeti blows me away with how much fun it is to ride full suss as this is the first I have owned. Everything is awesome when I ride these older bikes.
    Are they even old yet?

i have a Da Bomb Da Pukka frame from 2008. the atomlab wheels on the bike are even older (2003ish). rest of the parts have been upgraded in the last 12 months.
my commuter is a 2014 Saracen Studio 74
up until last year i had a Haro DHR that was a 2002 frame with parts from around 2003 – 2005 and was running perfectly

nowt wrong with a bit of retro!! 😀

My mountain bike is a 2007 Orange P7, summer roadie is a 2012 Orbea, winter a 2013 Planet-X. Newest bike is my Kona MinUte shopping bike, another 2013 vintage.

The bike I use most – frame is from 2000. All parts apart from cassette and chain are still running from 2008. Oh, and the wheels – it’s on its second set since ’08 (bloody rim brakes).

Turner 6 pack 2005 frame and forks still serving as my number one bike although both shocks are tuned to buggery. Think my pace 305 is 2006. Wife is still loving her 2006 stumpy fsr. However, only the frame, front mechanism and rear mechanism are original.

Even if we did want new bikes, no idea at all what we’d replace them with.

Last of the Blur LTc’s just over 12 months old, I’ll get 2/3 more years out of it. Then I’ll get something new and shiney, I might even get something new and shiney before then.

1979 Claud Butler Panache. It’s a lovely steel deathtrap with hopeless brakes and friction down tube shifters. Do I win a prize?

In order of how much they get ridden:

    1) On One Pomepetamine, parts are anything from 1-4 years old, commuter.
    2) 1993 Cinder Cone, kiddie hauler, pub bike.
    3) 2011 ASR5, oldest part are the wheels (2009), newest is fork (2013). MTB
    4) 2008 Storck Scenario. Race bike which sadly sees almost no use these days.

Depends…My oldest bike in service is a 2009 Wolf Ridge, but every single component aside from the frame itself has been changed. The front hub is a Hope Bulb dating back to 2005 though.

I still ride my 2003 Titus Locomoto, it is on the car ready for a ride tonight. Original Headset (King), Seatpost (Thomson), Cranks (XT), Shifters and derailleurs (XTR), Brakes (Mono Mini) and wheelset (DT 4.1, Revoution and King). I would say I have had my moneys worth out of it.
