I need to replace and bleed the brake hoses on both my front and back brakes.

Roughly how much oil will i need for both brakes?

there are some bleed kits on ebay including some oil, is it worth buying one of those do you think??

    cheers

    r,

If they need DOT4 or Mineral Oil I would go to Hellfrauds for car brake fuid or LHM Oil and get the minimum quantity available.
LHM will last for years in an opened container, and DOT will do for the car next summer if you only remove 50ml and close the lid properly.

You will probably only need 20ml per brake, but buying a Magura or Shimano 50ml is just a rip off.

If all goes well you’ll need about 20ml, if you get persistent bubble issues or have a tricky to bleed brake it might take more. But I’ve usually had about 6 bleeds of both brakes from a 500ml tub, which averages what – bout 40ml per brake per bleed, but it’s so cheap I’m not overly conservative with it, just slosh it through until the system is clean and working well.
