  • How much do you pay for electricity?
  • breninbeener

Looking at my most recent electricity bill, I am paying 15.13p per KWHr with a standing charge of 15.64p per day. We are a small house in N Wales with E.On as our provider.

It seems like a lot of money….does anyone pay anything lower?

The quote a TCR…Tariff Comparison Rate of 17.82p KWh which is a figure comprising of cost per unit and standing charge etc. Am I being taken to the cleaners?

I’m on 11.803p per KWHr with 20.93p per day, the comparison thing is 14.27 per KWH.

I don’t really know what that means, but First Utilities just sent me an e-mail about it and I had the info to hand.

You want some kind of comparison site, where you are should have no bearing on it.

22.72 per day and 10.59 per kWhr, nPower fixed price until 2018, in Norweb region. We just switched deal; nPower have a site where you can compare all their packages – for us, being on the right package made much more difference than who we have as supplier.

The area does make a difference, the power companies all have different rates for each area, depending on the price they can buy for and the cost of transmission.

Nothing. The solar panels installed seven years ago have now paid for themselves and produce nearly double what we use.

20.55p per day standing charge and 10.335 per kwh.

Likely to skyrocket as for the last 3 months all the hyro has been just about empty and the emergency diesel generators are not cheap to buy, install & run
