Hora has promised me he’ll come out riding with me when he finally finds a frame he’s satisfied with. apparently there are some obscure one’s out there he hasn’t tried yet. One day eh? One day.

Actually… maybe not

Locally only one and he only rides road. Through forums and stuff quite a few.

I’ve 1 mate i’m always out with, we bought new bikes at the same time about 4 years ago, i’d imagine we’ll still be riding bikes when we’re 60, but there’s another 3 or 4 people who i ride with now and again.

Most weeks I ride either on my own or with 1 mate.
Occasionally we go to Cannock and meet another.

Twice a year or so we go away for a weekend and there will be anywhere from 7 to 15 people

And then I do Mayhem so I ride with about 500 🙂

I like the mix – Riding with onewheelgood means there is someone to chase or try and drop as we’re similar in fitness and a bit of bike chat thrown in as well. Riding solo is just good for the soul. Large groups are great for the banter.

I ride regularly with a group of about 6 ‘buddies’,we are an unofficial club with a name, but no team kit, and of mixed ability and age. To tha casual observer we look like a bunch of mates and have even been known to socialise together.
However, in reality we are more akin to a dysfunctional pack of wolves, where the rules of the jungle apply and the weak and sick do not survive.
Mostly we hunt together but sometimes split into smaller raiding parties to explore different terrain.
Swadey, of this forum, was a member but, sadly, after the pack turned on him a few times now prefers to hunt alone, or with another pack.(Hello swadey 🙂 )

Two – they have never met either.
One leaves me standing going up hill, the other guy I leave standing going uphill. So they’re not really compatible. Both are good company and good bikers though. Otherwise I’m on my own if I suddenly find my self with free time.

You were going to lend me a bike. OK it would have killed me, but the thought was there.

None for me now – I used to have a great mate whom I went out with a few times each year, but he emmigrated to Australia. And there was always someone to ride with when I lived up in Stirling from SBC.

Since moving to the Lakes I have been billy no mates. Keep wishing there was an Ulverston Bike Club with the same hard core socialisation skills that Stirling Bike Club had 😉 I really need to find some folk this summer though – the post ride pint is not the same on your own 😉

1 that I’d class as a true buddy but we live a about 40 miles apart and time can be hard to come by. Try to get out with him as much as possible. *Hi Rusty, another ride due soon.*

I am beginning to think that is a bit sad really.

One main person, another joins frequently but not often enough! (i know you’re reading)
A bunch do dh but that’s a rare occasion.
Might join a local club soon and meet others through that.
It’s limited though. Two past riding friends have either moved abroad or got stuck under the thumb of the gf, bit of a shame.

Mostly by myself though occasionly with a local club as it can be boring on your tod too much..though I must admit a lot of the time I go out with them I am mentally taking note of all the trails they know, for when I’m back out by myself.

I have a riding buddy who I go out with a lot just the two of us which is cool as he’s a sound guy and I prefer this to big groups, but his fitness has dropped dramatically over the winter to the point he had to abandon half way round last time. I don’t mind waiting for people at the top of hills for a bit but now I think a long ride would take aaaages. I think I’ll try and coax him back out though and see if he can build his fitness up somehow.

My best mate always says he’s gonna buy a bike and come out with me but I know deep-down that the reason he doesn’t is because his missus won’t let him 🙄
