18miles in total

To quote myself...
Harry_the_Spider - MemberBah. Why can't people just say how many miles they will do? Couldn't give an arse how many they would do if they weren't driving or going home via the **** ing chippy or Shropshire (Dave )!
How many miles will you do today commuting on your bike?
Total.
There and back.

Thanks Harry, funny thread!
Yep. Much better than the original theme.
I have calculated the results based on the data collected and between us we have saved enough money to buy a pork pie of indeterminate size.
Possibly.
22 miles
Hahahaahhaaa
This has seriously cheered me up (after the McCann thread sorrow)
Thanks..
Pass the mustard then...

Saw a Renault Belingo with hub cap spinners on the way in this morning!
Oh - just remembered - on my ride in (8.5 miles) I saw a dog fox with a rabbit in its gob. Not in a field btw - this was in subway under an M60 slip road!
17 to work this morning
10 home this evening
I've already said 30 miles but that is broken down to 24 miles rural of which 2 miles up steep hills about 2 miles down steep hills, saw a Peacock after 8 miles and counted 32 cars. Also had a few miles uphill in the 6 miles of urban riding and rode the wrong way down a one way road 14 miles in followed by cycling on a footpath at 14.5 miles and the cops saw me.
i hope that all helps with the statistics.
2.1 this AM to work. Was planning on a 20 miler this PM (we finish at 13:30) but really can't be bothered/feel dog tired. Walking tomorrow and cycling Sun so I won't let it worry me that I'll probably only do another 2.1 to home!
Oh are we breaking down to surfaces now.
Ok if I go on my bike it'll be about 375metres on road and about 25metres off road, some of that road is private about 10metres in total at a guess. Elevation will but about 2metres and descent maybe 5-7metres.
Cost saving on taking the car, well there's a question I reckon it'll break about even per mile as I'm still paying for the bike.
18 each way = 36
55mile round trip today.
fifth day running.
knackered.

Ohhh, right then.. route guides..
Out of house, first off road about 20mtrs, turn left onto cycle path, ride underneath the overhanging trees and across the one-way street, back onto cycle path and dodging the railings and through the park making sure I miss the dogs off leads out for their morning poo, then across road no2 and back onto cycle path. Turn right onto the only hill of the route, elevation is about 20mtrs (hardly Box Hill’esque but a hill non the less, puff pant content) turn left back onto the cycle path and turn right at the bottom, through the infants school gates and across the school carpark, over the roundabout at the bottom of the road and turn left onto the only bit of real road.. slog it along for 1/2mile (puff pant content) and across the pedestrian crossing (making sure to press the button regardless if/if not there are any cars coming) then through the little street with the butchers/veggieman/bakers/5 estate agents/1 solicitors/1 florest/1 recruitment agent and a dress shop, cut through the carpark and over the road down to the station.
The return journey is the same, just read it backwards. The only highlights on the way home are that I regularly see and very smart young lady riding a shopping bike and she’s always said hi to me before I get to say hi to her.. She turns off just before I catch her, which is a shame.
I had to pop home at lunch time to take a parcel to the post office, so 12. If that trip doesn't count then it'll be 6, but it best had as I'm counting on that to negate the effects of the next door's BBQ that I'll be eating when I get home.

Zero, collarbone sees to that...
Normally 13 in and 7 home.
Erm.. how come so many ride in more miles To work than they do home?
Do you move house each time or are you Brian the Snail?
My out and back distance varies because I don't take the short cut across the golf course in daylight.
10. The second 5 will be with a trad rack and twin ropes, though, for extra training.
Erm.. how come so many ride in more miles To work than they do home?
I ride the kids to school in the morning and take a less lorry infested route to work. On the way home, I ride the shortest route as the lorries have gone.
WUNHUNDRED!
Please close this thred. Please.
12, but part of that was whilst sat on my bike as the ferry crossed over the river Dart, so maybe more like 11.7, do ferry crossings count if you sit on your bike?
10 miles home.
how many miles we done, then?
22 miles today.
