Got an old Puch road frame stretched the back end out to 130mm to put some new shiamano wheels in as I want to run 9 speed but the cassette is grinding on the mech hanger bolt. Is there anything I can do to sort this (a shim etc?) or would an 8 speed cassette be shorter and fit?

Really appreciate some help with this it is driving me nuts

    Thanks

They are thin stamped drop-outs, just stick a washer in there if you can.

    3 points here.

Thats a MTB mech, so not road.

Your QR appears to have cost more than the frame!

That aside, just stick a washer under it.

have you tried whacking a washer or two onto the end of the axle? you may be able to generate enough space without pushing the dropout off the end of the axle bed? (you’ve got enough spare QR adjustment)
