There’s loads of good house post ’96
None of it’s on a Hed Kandi or Azuli cd though
Hahaha, nice one! Whilst I’ll admit that within House Music circles, they are of course seen as the more commercial labels out there, many of the artists linked to within this thread so far have appeared on Hed Kandi or Azuli compilations so far.
I’ve never understood the British Phenomenon of slagging artists, labels or even whole genres of music off once they become popular. OK, I can understand slagging a total sellout like David Guetta off as the once great man is busy fuelling my fire of hatred for the commercial R&B driven pop world we live in today, but Hed Kandi and Azuli are big because they were good at bringing some pretty decent (and some shit) house music to the lesser educated masses. Besides, Masters at Work have featured on at least one CD by Hed Kandi before, as have many other highly revered artists.
Sometimes, I know it’s hard to believe in this day and age of Cowell and reality TV driven dross, music becomes popular quite simply just because it is good!
