Would a Hope rear XC hub work ok still if the axle was in 2 pieces??

The QR skewer keeps it all together, so it should work ok to get you home, but not ideal. In my experience it will creak a bit. Best to change ASAP the axle isn’t too expensive.

No. It will wreck the hub soonish. If you call Hope, they’ll probably send you a new one for free though…. I think I’ve had 3 now like that…

Reason i asked is i sold some wheels a few weeks ago, guy i sold them too is saying he replaced bearings and found axle in 2 pieces.

Just surprised as they seemed to be working fine when i sold them.

Tell him to ring Hope!
