Are the King BB's noticeably better than the Hope Stainless or Ceramic?

nope! – King requires special tool (rather costly tool) to service with new grease.. yet the Hope can be regreased with ease using normal grease gun or even a careful finger full…. I can regrease a hope in 15mins and still have my original stainless hope bb running after over 2 years or gritstone use in the peaks in all weathers. you simply pop out the plastic shell covers and prise out the seals before pumping in new grease and resealing, and replacing the plastic cover.. so simple, and works.

Had a king, mate had his about a month longer than me, his was showing signs of wear on non drive side in 3 months.
I have gone back to Sq taper royce with rs8 middleburns, no faff all out of the crap, 12 month warranty on bearings.

Hope stainless still going after three years of DH racing. Just re-greased every once in a while.
