I’m running my 20mm Maxle Lite Rock Shox Reba’s with a 2012 Hope Pro II Evo / Stan’s Crest Front wheel, and Hope 20mm adaptor spacers. They’ve been fine until the last few weeks when a small amount of side to side wheel play has developed despite the Maxle being done up tightly. I’ve tried greasing the adaptor / bearing / axle contact points etc, and adjusted the Maxle QR to make it tighter. This helped slightly but has not silved the problem.

    Any ideas??

    Thanks in advance,

Sounds like worn out bearings. How old is the hub?

The hub is 11 months old.

    I’d try some new bearings.

A mate had this, pro2 original version and pike 302 iirc. As smooth as the wheel and the bearings seemed to be (apart from the side to side wobble), when he changed them for new ones it stopped. Seemed a bit premature to blame his newish bearings at the time, as the wheel didn’t feel as bad as a back one does when bearings are going, but it certainly worked. A couple of threads about it a few years back but seems to be getting harder to find them…
