So, I put a new freehub body on a hope pro 2, new pawls and bearings etc. All fits and spins fine, nice click when you spin the cassette.
But as soon as I put it in the bike it’s like a fixie.
Took it all off, done it all again … same again.

    What have I done wrong??

You’ve missed the little spacer out from behind the freehub body. It’s a washer about 2mm thick that slips over the axle first.

Stops the freehub from binding against the ring drive once you load the wheel up with the skewer

Or failing that, you may have inadvertently knocked the axle through the hub towards the NDS… If the spacer is there give the axle a clout with a block of wood on the disc side..,

Or you either haven’t installed the plastic freehub seal correctly or it’s the wrong way round.

I knew it would be something daft. The previous one had collapsed so I had nothing to “copy” from.

    Cheers Amigos !

    Off to the workshop…
