If I wanted to shorten my braided hoses
1. What do I need to cut them with?
2. Would I need any new parts before I attempted it
3. is it easy enough to do?

I've not done it, a mate did mine for me, but he said it was very easy.

I'd recommend a new olive, you can use the old one but a new one will be easier to fit over the braiding.
