  • Hope headset – old vs new crown race compatibility?

    Probably a stupid question: I have an old-style Hope 1-1/8 headset. I ordered a new crown race for some new forks, and ordered the old-style pre-2007 non-split crown race.

    This morning a new-style split crown-race arrived.

    If I just put this one on will it all work fine, or will it cause my bike to explode?

    EDIT: or maybe I’ve got a new style one, who knows.
